The Wire on Suite by Marco Fusi and Pierre Alexandre Tremblay
Italy’s Marco Fusi (violin, viola d’amore) and French Canadian Pierre Alexandre Tremblay (bass guitar and electronics) are free improvisors who explore acoustic resonance. Fusi worked with Pierre Boulez and Klangforum Wien, and currently researches at HEMU Lausanne and Orpheus Instituut, Ghent. This is hardcore improv, with no grooves or melodies – a relentless concentration on timbre and resonance. Schoenberg said that his music was pantonal not atonal – there’s no doubt that this dense, concentrated and wonderfully liberating work is atonal in the fullest sense.
